PTE
The Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) is the world’s leading computer-based English language test trusted by universities, colleges, and governments around the world. It offers candidates the fastest, fairest, and most flexible way of proving their English proficiency for study/work abroad or immigration purposes.
In 2009, Pearson Language Tests launched the Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) which is endorsed by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the organization responsible for the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). The test score has been aligned to the levels defined in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
PTE Academic is delivered through the Pearson Virtual User Environment (VUE) centers which are also responsible for delivering the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) worldwide.
There are three versions of the test: the PTE Academic, General, and Young Learners. If you are taking the test to apply for a university course, you should take PTE Academic. This assesses listening, reading, speaking, and writing all via computer in a single three-hour test session. It is a computer-based exam that focuses on real-life English used in academic surroundings, covering aspects such as accents and academic language.
The test is predominantly read by a computer rather than a human grader to reduce the waiting time of the results for students.
It is accepted in countries like The UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, The USA, Ireland, Germany, and Singapore.
The Score Range for PTE is 10-90 points in each section.
This test can be booked 48 hours in advance, can be attempted innumerable times, and rescheduled as needed.
